1. What Information Do We Collect?

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the App, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the App, or otherwise when you contact us.

• Personal Information Provided by You: We collect names; email addresses; passwords; contact preferences; contact or authentication data; profile pictures; university branch/major details; and other similar information.
• Information Collected through Google Sign-In: If you choose to link or sign up using your Google account, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture associated with that Google account.

2. How Do We Use Your Information?

We use personal information collected via our App for a variety of business purposes described below:

• To facilitate account creation and logon process.
• To manage user accounts and enable user-to-user communications (e.g., chat messaging, team joining).
• To provide the core services of SkillLinkr, including matching users based on skills and facilitating section/room swaps.
• To send administrative information to you, such as security alerts or changes to our terms.

3. Will Your Information Be Shared With Anyone?

We only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services, to protect your rights, or to fulfill business obligations.

• Other Users: When you share personal information (like your profile picture, skills, or branch) or otherwise interact with public areas of the App, such personal information may be viewed by all users and may be publicly made available outside the App in perpetuity.
• Service Providers: We use Supabase as our backend database and authentication provider. Your data is securely stored on their servers in accordance with their strict security policies.

4. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Data Deletion: You have the right to delete your account and all associated personal data at any time. You can request account deletion in two ways:

• In-App: Go to the Settings page inside the SkillLinkr app and tap on "Delete Account".
• On the Web: Visit our dedicated data deletion page at https://www.skilllinkr.com/delete-account and follow the instructions to securely delete your data without needing to reinstall the app.

Upon receiving a deletion request, we will permanently remove your personal data from our active databases.

5. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures (including secure HTTPS connections, OTP verification, and secure database row-level security) designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
